Guercif-Nador Motorway: Bioui Travaux prevails over Chinese and French competition

One of the most strategic motorway construction sites in the Oriental region, the Saka-Driouch section of the future Guercif-Nador motorway, has found its builders. The Moroccan company Bioui Travaux has emerged as the big winner of the international tender, winning two of the three lots put up for bid, facing very fierce Moroccan and foreign competition.

The announcement, officially made on November 14 by the Regional Directorate of Equipment, put an end to a tight competition. The first lot was awarded to the Mojazine group, which won with an offer of 586.78 million dirhams, beating competitors such as the French NGE Contracting and the China Road and Bridge Corporation. The execution deadline was set at 900 days.

Bioui Travaux wins over 1 billion dirhams

The real battle was played out on the other two sections, where Bioui Travaux faced the same rivals, as well as Staport SA. The company first secured the second lot with an offer of 472.76 million dirhams, before confirming its dominance by winning the third and final lot for 632.03 million dirhams. The execution deadlines are identical, i.e. 900 days for each section.

With a total amount exceeding 1.1 billion dirhams, Bioui Travaux has therefore secured the majority of this construction site and has established itself as a central player in major national projects. The award of these contracts paves the way for the concrete start of the work on this motorway, considered as an essential development accelerator to open up the region and support the strengthening of infrastructure around the new port of Nador.
