Guardia Civil Officer Critically Injured in Melilla Border Incident

On Sunday, a man of Tunisian origin, while trying to force his way through by running at the Beni Ansar border between Morocco and Melilla, collided with a Guardia civil agent who, in falling, suffered serious injuries.
The Guardia civil agent fell following this impact with the Tunisian migrant and was injured in the head. He was rushed to the Comarcal de Melilla hospital, specifically to the intensive care unit. He is said to be suffering, among other things, from a skull fracture.
According to the media Larazon.es, his vital prognosis is now engaged, with abundant blood loss, a skull fracture, loss of consciousness and convulsions.
The Unified Association of Civil Guards (AUGC) explained on Twitter what happened, indicating that the agent was "seriously injured" after trying to prevent the irregular entry of a migrant who wanted to bypass the control.
This association, following this incident, also issued an appeal to find solutions to this type of problem that occurs to the Guardia civil in border areas. The Tunisian migrant, for his part, was apprehended for "assault on a representative of authority".
