Migrant Found Hidden in Car’s Secret Compartment at Spanish Border

Hidden in the double bottom of a car, a 19-year-old sub-Saharan migrant who was attempting the adventure of illegal immigration to Spain was discovered by the "Guardia civil" during the inspection of a vehicle at the border between Melilla and Morocco on Tuesday, July 26, 2019.
On Tuesday, July 16, the Spanish police made a surprising discovery. In a Mercedes-branded car with Moroccan license plates trying to enter Melilla, they found a young migrant from Guinea-Conakry, using a heart rate monitor that allows the detection of the presence of people hidden in vehicles.
The undocumented young man was suffering from symptoms of numbness, pain and dizziness, reports the EFE agency. Once apprehended, the migrant received first aid before being admitted to the Temporary Immigrant Stay Center (CETI) in Melilla.
Caught in the act, the driver, a 22-year-old Moroccan, tried to flee. He was arrested and will be brought to trial as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against the rights of foreign citizens and resistance to an authority agent in the exercise of his functions, resulting in bodily harm to one of the police officers, the same source points out.
