Grandson of Former Moroccan General Arrested for Quad Bike Assault in Rabat

A "oueld lefchouch", the grandson of a former general, was arrested and then detained for deliberately running over a rival during a quad bike rodeo in the Souissi neighborhood of Rabat.
The incident occurred last Friday. A dispute broke out between two young people. On board his quad, the general’s grandson deliberately rammed his rival, a 17-year-old teenager, causing him serious foot injuries, reports Al Akhbar. Following this assault, the father, armed with a medical certificate, went to a Rabat police station where he filed a complaint against several individuals.
The police managed to arrest three minors, including the main suspect. Under judicial supervision, the accused were heard in the presence of their parents or legal guardians. On Sunday, the police officers brought them before the public prosecutor’s office. The grandson of the former general was placed in detention, while the other two were released on bail (10,000 dirhams).
The same source specifies that the accused admitted the facts he is accused of. He and his two accomplices are being prosecuted for attempted voluntary manslaughter and failure to assist a person in danger. Their trial will open in the coming days.
