Grand Mosque of Paris to Set Ramadan 2025 Start Date in Late February

The Grand Mosque of Paris should organize the Night of Doubt setting the beginning of Ramadan at the end of February.
On Friday, the Grand Mosque of Paris announced the date of the Night of Doubt which will set the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan 1446/2025 for the supporters of lunar observation. In a press release, the religious institution informed Muslim believers that the first day of the month of Sha’aban 1446/H corresponds to Friday, January 31, 2025. "Consequently, the religious commission responsible for determining and announcing the start date of the blessed month of Ramadan 1446/H in France will meet at the Grand Mosque of Paris on Friday, February 28, 2025, corresponding to 29 Sha’aban 1446/H, at 6 p.m.," it specified, assuring that it "remains attached to this tradition of the Night of Doubt, which preserves the unity of Muslims on the threshold of the blessed month of Ramadan, and allows them to prepare for it."
"The religious commission will take into account visual observations of the new moon as well as the results of astronomical calculations," added the Grand Mosque of Paris. The religious institution also invites the Muslims of France "to multiply acts of worship to spiritually welcome the next month of Ramadan, that of fasting, prayer and generosity."
