Global Sustainable Cities Ranking: Morocco Absent from Top 100

The Sustainable Cities 2022 ranking of the most advanced cities in the world in terms of sustainable development was unveiled on Tuesday by the Arcadis agency. No Moroccan city is in the top 100 of this ranking.
According to the information published by the agency, no city in the kingdom has really managed to achieve the sustainable development goals, despite the investments made by the municipalities to improve the living conditions of citizens.
To establish its ranking, Arcadis is based on three pillars of sustainable development: social, economic and environmental issues. It takes into account, in particular, public policies on energy consumption, the quality of life offered to residents (education, health, safety), and the economic development of the ranked cities.
Globally, the ranking is dominated by the cities of Oslo, Stockholm, Tokyo, Copenhagen and Berlin.
