Galatasaray Star Ziyech Halts Training Over Unpaid Salary, Resumes After Captain’s Intervention

The Moroccan international, Hakim Ziyech, would have refused to train with his club, Galatasaray, due to non-payment of his January salary.
According to the Turkish newspaper Taqyeem, Hakim Ziyech stopped training due to non-payment of his salary. But the team captain, Fernando Muslera, eventually convinced him to resume training. "Don’t worry, you’ll get your money. I’ve been here for 12 years and no player has ever been deprived of his salary," Muslera assured the Moroccan player.
Galatasaray is awaiting the receipt of a sum of 350,000 euros from FIFA as compensation for Ziyech’s injury at the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire. This amount should allow the Turkish club to pay the Moroccan international his February salary, during which he will be absent due to injury.
