Hakim Ziyech Joins Galatasaray Permanently from Chelsea After Successful Loan Spell

Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech is leaving Chelsea definitively for Galatasaray. The Turkish club has exercised the purchase option that became free thanks to clauses fulfilled at the end of the year.
With eight goals and four assists in 23 matches, Hakim Ziyech was able to convince Galatasaray and continues the adventure in Turkey. Loaned last season by Chelsea as part of a deal worth 3.6 million euros ($3.86 million), he officially signed for one season, plus one optional, on Friday at Galatasaray. The Turkish club has exercised the purchase option that became free thanks to clauses fulfilled at the end of the year. Galatasaray has recruited Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea as part of a free transfer, the SüperLig champion announced in a statement, specifying that the 32-year-old player will receive an annual net salary of 2.85 million euros ($3.05 million) for the 2024-2025 season. "In accordance with the agreement, if the conditional extension option is exercised, the footballer will receive an annual net salary of 2.85 million euros for the 2025-2026 season," the same source adds.
In a statement, Chelsea thanked Ziyech for his efforts during his stay at Stamford Bridge and wishes him "good luck" for the rest of his career. With the Blues, the Moroccan international scored 14 goals and provided 13 assists in 107 matches, over three seasons. He won the Champions League in 2021, the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup the following year.
