Galatasaray Eyes Bayern Munich’s Mazraoui as Second Moroccan Signing
The Turkish club Galatasaray could welcome another Moroccan, after the arrival last summer of Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech.
Noussair Mazraoui, the Moroccan international from Bayern Munich, could arrive in Turkey this summer. The right-back is on Galatasaray’s radar, the reigning Turkish champions, to strengthen their squad for the next season.
Okan Buruk, Galatasaray’s coach, is apparently an admirer of Mazraoui’s profile, according to the local press. The Turkish technician is convinced that the Atlas Lion can bring real added value to his defense, thanks to his versatility and technical solidity.
If Mazraoui’s transfer materializes, it could be in the form of a loan. Bayern Munich, who count on the player, could be reluctant to let him leave permanently, especially in the face of the interest of other European clubs. A loan would allow Galatasaray to benefit from Mazraoui’s qualities for a season, without having to invest a significant transfer amount.
One gray area could however slow down Mazraoui’s transfer: his recurring injuries. Last season, the player missed several matches for his team and the Moroccan team due to physical problems, which affected his performance.
