Galatasaray Coach Casts Doubt on Ziyech’s Future with Club

Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk has spoken on the future of Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech.
In a response given to a Turkish media, the coach has left doubt on his future at the Istanbul club.
Despite a mixed season, marked by injuries, Ziyech remains a player appreciated by his coach. "He does everything he can to play," Buruk said, acknowledging the Moroccan’s impact in the championship win last season.
Yet, Ziyech’s future at Galatasaray seems to hang by a thread. Buruk recalled the existence of a clause in the player’s contract, conditioning his extension to a minimum number of matches played. "If he reaches this number of matches, his contract will be extended by one year," the coach specified.
"As long as he plays well and remains in the team, no one would want to part with a player like Hakim Ziyech," Buruk concluded, making no comment on the Moroccan’s latest blunder in front of the goalkeeper.
