French Muslim Council Announces Eid al-Adha Date for 2022

Based on the most accurate scientific data, the Muslim Theological Council of France (CTMF) announced, on Saturday, June 25, the date of Eid al-Adha 1443/2022.
"Taking into account the most accurate scientific data [...] the conjunction (new moon) will take place, insha’Allah, on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 2:52 GMT (3:52 PM: Paris time). The new crescent moon will be visible, insha’Allah, on the same day at 6:02 PM GMT (7:02 PM: Paris time)," the CTMF said. Based on these elements, the religious body states that the first day of the month of Dhul-Hijjah will be Thursday, June 30, 2022 and that Eid al-Adha will therefore be celebrated on the tenth day of the sacred month, on Saturday, July 9.
