French-Moroccan Arrested in Marrakech for Running Luxury Motorcycle Theft Ring

The Moroccan authorities have dealt a blow to a network of stolen motorcycles and bicycles. A 33-year-old French-Moroccan was arrested on Monday in Marrakech. He is suspected of being the mastermind of a criminal organization specializing in the theft of high-end motorcycles in Europe, then their resale in Morocco.
According to the initial investigations, the suspect and his accomplices were attacking garages and car dealerships to steal two-wheelers worth tens of thousands of euros each. Once in their possession, these motorcycles and bicycles were hidden before being transported to Morocco, where they were sold on online sales platforms.
During an operation carried out in the vicinity of Marrakech, the law enforcement authorities proceeded to arrest the main suspect and seize motorcycles, all declared stolen in Europe. The total market value of this loot is estimated at 450,000 euros.
An investigation has been opened to determine the exact extent of this criminal network and identify any possible accomplices. The suspect was taken into custody and should be brought before the courts in the coming days.
