French Fugitive Wanted for Attempted Murder Arrested in Tangier

A 30-year-old French national was arrested on Tuesday morning by the Tangier police elements. He was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued in France in a case of attempted voluntary homicide linked to an organized criminal network.
According to the Interpol database, the suspect is also the subject of an international search warrant under a red notice in a case related to the destruction of criminal evidence and the non-reporting of an act constituting a crime, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) said in a statement.
The suspect was placed in custody on the orders of the competent prosecutor’s office, pending his extradition in accordance with national legislation and the relevant international conventions. According to the DGSN, the arrest of this French national is part of the cooperation maintained by Morocco in the fields of security and transnational crime.
