French-Algerian Man Arrested in Morocco for Drug Trafficking and Forgery

Elements of the prefectural service of the Judicial Police of Tangier proceeded, on Friday, to the arrest of a French national of Algerian origin. He would be involved in international drug trafficking as part of an organized transnational criminal network, and in forgery and use of forgeries.
This is the outcome of a judicial investigation conducted by the national security services of Tangier. In a press release, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) states that the investigation had begun after the suspect, seriously injured with a bladed weapon, was admitted to a private clinic using false German identity papers.
The research and investigations revealed that the accused was the subject of national arrest warrants issued by the National Brigade of the Judicial Police and the prefectural service of the Judicial Police of the city of Tetouan in cases of international drug trafficking, money laundering and the commission of serious physical assaults. In June 2021, the French judicial authorities also issued an international arrest warrant against him for international drug trafficking, money laundering and the commission of serious physical assaults.
Pending the judicial investigation that will be conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to shed light on all his criminal activities related to international drug trafficking and money laundering, to arrest all the people involved in his physical assault, and to elucidate the motives, the suspect continues to receive the necessary care in the hospital.
