Interpol Fugitive Arrested in Morocco: Franco-Algerian Wanted for Swiss Armored Car Heist

Elements of the Tangier police prefecture arrested, on Saturday, a Franco-Algerian national wanted by Interpol. According to the Moroccan authorities, he was wanted for "attempted armed robbery in an organized gang and criminal conspiracy".
The 29-year-old fugitive was wanted on the basis of a red notice issued by Interpol in connection with a criminal case related to the attack on an armored transport vehicle in Switzerland. In a statement, the General Directorate of National Security indicated that the Franco-Algerian national, whose identity was not disclosed, has been made available to the competent judicial authorities, who will have to rule on the procedure for his extradition to France, where he was actively wanted.
The statement stresses that the DGSN continues to work on the scale of international cooperation in order to process the arrest requests for the purpose of extradition addressed to it.
