French Auto Supplier Galvanoplast Invests $14 Million in New Morocco Factory, Creating 120 Jobs

The automotive sector continues to recruit in Morocco, particularly in the north of the country with, this time, the inauguration of a new factory of the French group Galvanoplast, specialized in anticorrosion.

Thus, the Group officially inaugurated the industrial site, "Electroplast", on the Tanger-Med industrial platform, with an investment of around 140 million dirhams, reports the MAP, citing a press release from the company.

"This installation, the first of the Group, outside the Hexagon, was able to be carried out thanks to the development of the Moroccan automotive ecosystem, and thanks to the presence, in particular, of the Renault and Peugeot Groups," it is stated.

Built on a 20,000 m2 plot and an area of 8,000 m2, the new site will be dedicated to the treatment of "zinc-nickel and cataphoresis for metal parts, on fully automated lines". There is also talk of a "wastewater treatment plant benefiting from the best available techniques".

Even if the site was only officially inaugurated this week, in reality, production has started since last October, with some 50 employees, before reaching, ultimately, 120 people, according to the company’s forecasts.

As the Group President recalled, Electroplast’s customers are mainly stamping companies present in the free zones in Morocco.
