Consuls general denounce the practices of intermediaries that undermine fair access to public services. Technical trials are under way with service provider TLS Contact to block the abusive capture of appointment slots, while strengthened cooperation with local authorities aims to systematically report identified fraud.

On the technological front, Paris is taking a cautious approach to automation. For 2026, the consular strategy will focus on flexible flow management. The availability of appointment slots will be adjusted according to seasonal variations to prioritize students at the start of the academic year or seasonal workers ahead of the harvests. However, services warn that after two consecutive years of growth, it will be difficult to further increase the overall number of visas issued without additional resources.
