France Hosts Majority of Moroccan International Students, Study Finds

France remains the top host country for Moroccan students abroad. During the 2021-2022 academic year, more than half of them were recorded in the Hexagon.
This is revealed by the "Erudera" platform, specifying that the number of Moroccan students enrolled in French higher education institutions during this period stands at 33,000 students, out of the 60,000 scattered around the world.
In second place among the attractive countries for Moroccan students abroad are the United States, the report indicates, noting that during the previous academic year, some 1,466 Moroccans chose this country to pursue their studies. The universities and institutes of the United Kingdom then follow, which in turn attracted 1,265 Moroccan students.
Moreover, Morocco is also positioning itself as a destination of choice for higher education on the African continent, attracting in recent years many mobile students in the world. The kingdom is cited among the most popular countries for students on the African continent, according to Erudera.
In 2020, "Moroccan universities and institutes welcomed 24,226 students in their lecture halls, the second largest number among African countries, preceded by South Africa, which had 40,712 students," the same source specifies.
