Moroccan Students Lead Foreign Enrollment in French Business Schools

Moroccan students are the foreign community most represented in business schools. These are also the champions in welcoming international students.
With 19% of foreign students, business schools are the champions in welcoming international students in France. Morocco has 2,867 students in business schools in France, making it the first foreign population most represented in business schools. This large number of Moroccan students in business schools is justified by the proximity of the two higher education systems. Another justification: "the Moroccan preparatory classes constitute an important recruitment pool for business schools. Some are even established on site, such as ESSEC, Toulouse Business School or more recently ESC Clermont," says L’étudiant.fr.
Moroccan students are followed by Chinese students. There are 2,215 of them in business schools in 2024. Italian students (1,562) occupy the third place in the ranking of foreign students in business schools. India (1,552) and Algeria (867) complete the top 5 of foreign students in business schools. Tunisia takes sixth place with 706 students. Then come Cameroon (652 students), Côte d’Ivoire (571 students), Germany (539 students) and Spain (539 students). With 457 students, Lebanon occupies the 11th place. The number of Lebanese students in business schools has increased by 239% between 2017 and 2022, according to Campus France.
