Spanish Universities Showcase Programs to Attract Moroccan Students at Education Fair

Until February 9, the 7th Spanish Studies Salon is being held in Casablanca, Rabat and Tétouan. The objective is to introduce the academic offer of 21 Spanish universities to potential Moroccan students and to consolidate scientific cooperation between the two countries.
Organized by the Orientation Carrefour company, in collaboration with the Juan Ramón Jiménez, Nuestra Señora del Pilar and Cervantes Institutes, the salon aims to present the academic offer of Spanish public and private universities to anyone wishing to pursue their higher education there, and to explore opportunities for academic and scientific cooperation between Moroccan and Spanish universities, it is indicated in a note cited by EFE.
Morocco is the African country with the most foreign students in the Spanish university system, estimated at just over 2,500, apart from Moroccan students already residing in Spain and those who continue to access it. In total, more than 7,000 (7,196) Moroccan students enrolled in Spanish universities for the 2020-2021 academic year.
After two editions held by videoconference due to the health crisis related to Covid-19, the salon is being held in person again. Spain is the European country that receives the most Moroccan students, teachers and researchers in higher education as part of the European Union’s Erasmus+ program.
