France to Fast-Track Citizenship for Essential Foreign Workers Who Served During Lockdown

The Minister Delegate for Citizenship, Marlène Schiappa, affirmed on Sunday her desire to "accelerate the naturalization of foreign nationals on the front line during the lockdown".
In a joint interview with the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, published in the newspaper Le Parisien, the minister declares: "We want to accelerate the naturalization of foreign nationals on the front line during the lockdown (garbage collectors, cashiers, nurses, doctors) who have started the process to become French".
Similarly, the government, she specifies, will establish a vade-mecum of naturalization for the prefectures. According to Ms. Schiappa, this will systematically involve official photos, the distribution of a new film on the values of the Republic and a choir that will sing the Marseillaise.
