France Boosts Exam Centers and Safety Measures for 2020 Baccalaureate

Preparations are well underway for the safe organization of the 2020 baccalaureate. For this special edition, the government announced on Thursday, June 18, the deployment of additional resources and the implementation of strict measures.
The Ministry of National Education wants to guarantee the health safety of candidates, educational and administrative staff, as well as all stakeholders. To this end, 2,155 examination centers have been mobilized, compared to 1,500 in 2019, divided into 100 covered rooms, plus 145 amphitheaters and 1,910 school establishments, with a limit of 10 candidates per room.
For the supervisory ministry, 371 centers will also be mobilized for the correction of the tests in the various provincial directorates. It also adds that 46 examination centers will be opened in penitentiary institutions, divided into 107 rooms for the some 856 candidates.
Among the preventive measures announced, there is the disinfection of corridors, offices, sanitary facilities and other workspaces, equipment, supplies, envelopes, documents, transport vehicles and spaces intended for the storage and security of the tests.
The government also supports that the taking of the candidates’ temperature, the respect of social distancing and the implementation of organizational mechanisms will be provided. As for the disinfectant gels, they will be made available, with the obligation to disinfect the hands and wear a protective mask. In addition, any exchange of supplies between candidates will be prohibited for the safety of all.
