80-Year-Old Moroccan Man Takes High School Exam, Inspiring Nation

In Morocco, the oldest candidate in the 2020 baccalaureate is 80 years old and is taking the exam like the other candidates. The publication of his photo on social networks showing him in an exam room has set the web on fire.
Dressed in a jellaba, a face mask on his face, the octogenarian took the written exams of the 2020 baccalaureate. His determination to obtain the precious diploma has aroused admiration, applause and encouragement from Moroccan Internet users. Some have even called on the Ministry of Education to reward this unusual candidate for his determination. In 2019, the oldest candidate to take the baccalaureate was 70 years old.
The baccalaureate exam 2020 started on July 3 and continues until July 9. According to the Minister of Education, Saaid Amzazi, the first phase of the exam had gone better. This year, some 441,238 candidates are participating in the baccalaureate exam nationwide in a context marked by the COVID-19 pandemic.
