Former Al-Nassr Player Claims Cristiano Ronaldo ’Wants to Convert to Islam’

"He really wants to convert to Islam," said the former Saudi international, thus fueling the rumors that have been circulating since the arrival of the Portuguese player in Saudi Arabia.

Invited to the Al-Hissa Al-Akhira show, Waleed Abdullah shared a few anecdotes about the daily life of the Portuguese star within the club. He notably described a very attentive Cristiano Ronaldo to the religious practices of his Muslim teammates, not hesitating to request the interruption of training during the call to prayer. "At first, I was close to Cristiano, because he didn’t know the culture of the country well," explained Waleed Abdullah. "He was curious and often asked me questions about certain details."

But the former goalkeeper went further, claiming that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner was deeply interested in Islam. "I talked to him about it, and he was interested," he assured. An interest that would be manifested in particular by symbolic gestures, like this famous "prostration" after a goal, which would have provoked the enthusiasm of his teammates. "All the players shouted in one voice ’Allahu Akbar’," recounted Waleed Abdullah.
