Ronaldo’s Muslim-Style Prayer Fails to Clinch Saudi Super Cup for Al-Nassr

During the penalty shootout in the Saudi Super Cup final between Al-Nassr and Al-Ahli, Cristiano Ronaldo was seen in a prayerful posture, with his hands clasped and his head bowed, as Muslims do.
This posture of the Portuguese striker of Al-Nassr "clearly evokes a douâ (invocation), as Muslims do," says Oumma in a post on X. In the Muslim religion, the douâ designates a personal prayer addressed to God, outside of the ritual prayer (salât), with the hands joined and raised towards the sky, as a sign of humility and trust.
Unfortunately, this gesture by Cristiano Ronaldo did not allow his team to win the title. The Portuguese star scored the first goal of the match on a penalty kick - his hundredth goal with Al-Nassr - but in the end, his team lost on penalties (2-2, 5-3 on penalties). Al-Ahli shattered the Portuguese striker’s dream of lifting his first trophy with Al-Nassr, the club he joined in December 2022.
