Moroccan Goalkeeper Bounou Stuns Ronaldo as Al-Hilal Clinches Saudi King’s Cup

It was an incredible, almost surreal moment that took place at the Long Abdullah Sports City where the Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo, collapsed in tears after Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, alias Bono, made multiple saves to help Al-Hilal win the Saudi King’s Cup.
Yassine Bounou has once again made the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo cry. He made several decisive saves throughout the King’s Cup final, allowing his teammates to win on penalties after the match ended in a 1-1 draw after extra time. Al Nassr missed a goal in the 43rd minute of play after the five-time Ballon d’Or winner failed on the left post of the Moroccan goalkeeper. Subsequently, Bono stopped two shots and allowed Al-Hilal to win 5-4. He stopped five of the six shots in the final, with a save rate of 83.3% against the Al Nassr attack, making decisive interventions and being a source of security for Al Hilal’s goals, according to Opta, the English sports content company.
This is not the first time that Bono has dashed the hopes of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. He had greatly contributed to Portugal’s elimination in the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar (1-0).
