Morocco’s Star Goalkeeper Bounou Casts Doubt on Olympic Participation

Clouds are looming over the participation of Yassine Bounou, the goalkeeper of the Moroccan national team, in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
According to information reported by the site "Win Win", the Al Hilal goalkeeper has not yet officially announced his intention to join the Olympic squad to the technical staff, whether Walid Regragui, the head coach of the Atlas Lions, or Tarek Sektioui, in charge of the Olympic team.
This situation fuels speculation about a possible withdrawal of the former Sevilla FC goalkeeper from the competition. Especially since the Moroccan has made no public statement to clarify the situation.
However, Bounou’s absence would be a blow to Morocco’s ambitions in Paris. Considered one of the best goalkeepers on the African continent, his experience and talent would have been a valuable asset for the team, writes the same source.
For his part, Alaa Bellaarouch, who played a major role in Morocco’s qualification for the Olympics, positions himself as a serious contender for the starting position.
