Abdelaziz Barrada has been the target of much criticism, after officially announcing a few days ago his arrival in National 2, in the ranks of US Lusitano Saint-Maure. The news surprised more than one.

To put an end to all this criticism about his choice, Berrada reacted by stating that he had had many proposals: "It’s a purely family choice. I wanted to get closer to her. It has nothing to do with the financial aspect. I had a lot of offers from abroad, from Dubai, from Greece... I also had one in Ligue 2. The main reason for my return is my desire to get closer to my parents and my family. And to be in Paris, because I come from the Paris region," he justified on RMC Sport and to Le Parisien.

For the Atlas Lion, the offers were not lacking. "Financially, it was quite huge, up to 50 times more than what I’m earning now. But I prioritized my family over money," said the Moroccan player.

At 30 years old, the midfielder, who has notably played for OM, has no regrets, but is very proud of his career: "I have a well-stocked career. If I don’t find anything behind, it doesn’t bother me. On the contrary," confided the former Marseille player. While the Moroccan international is proud to have had a good career, his only regret is his non-participation in the 2018 World Cup, the first of its kind for the Atlas Lions, after 20 years of drought.
