Former Moroccan Party Leader Chabat Reportedly Liquidating Assets, Moving Abroad

The former Secretary General of the Istiqlal Party, who is still a member of parliament, Hamid Chabat, is said to be gradually leaving Morocco by liquidating all his assets.
Al Akhbar writes straight away: "Abdelhamid Chabat, former Secretary General of the PI, has turned into a phantom parliamentarian, after leaving Morocco and settling in Germany. Well-informed sources have revealed that the former mayor of Fez has transferred all his cash to European banks".
Furthermore, the same source specifies that Chabat would be investing in Turkey and the Netherlands and that he is actively selling everything he owns in Morocco, in terms of movable and immovable property, in order to have nothing left in Morocco by 2021 (end of his various terms of office). And to settle permanently in Germany.
On the other hand, several legal cases against him, in the courts of Fez, could hinder him, according to the same source. "More than 8 legal cases could put a spoke in his wheels and upset his calculations," concludes Al Akhbar.
