Former Insurance Tycoon’s Wife Calls Him "Sick" Amid Sex Trafficking and Rape Allegations

Damning testimonies are piling up against Jacques Bouthier, the former head of the insurance brokerage group Assu 2000, who has been indicted for human trafficking and rape of minors. For his wife, the man is "a madman, a sexual deviant".
After the Moroccan victims, former employees at the Tangier office of the company, it is the turn of the wife to reveal the personality of the defendant before the justice system. During her hearing before the investigating judge on July 11, Farida, Jacques Bouthier’s wife, declared: "he is a very sick man."
Married for thirty years to the 75-year-old millionaire, Farida expressed her indignation at the revelations about her husband. "This need, it... There are no words. I am shriveled up. It is not possible that I lived with him and saw nothing, that I lived next to a sick man, a madman, a sexual deviant. There was nothing in his behavior that could have made me think of that," she reacted after reading the complaint of a 16-year-old girl at the time of the events.
Farida also acknowledged her husband’s infidelities and his obsession with sex, but was unaware of his pedophile tendencies and the trafficking of young girls of which he is accused. "The idea that he goes out with a minor, that goes beyond me," she said, expressing disbelief at having lived "next to a sick man, a madman, a sexual deviant" and not having "seen anything".
