Former Assu 2000 CEO Jacques Bouthier Faces New Sexual Harassment Allegations in Morocco

The Jacques Bouthier case is far from over. Indicted for human trafficking, rape of minors and participation in a criminal conspiracy, the former CEO of the Assu 2000 group is also the subject of an investigation for sexual harassment in branches in Tangier.

Among the complaints against him in Morocco, there is that of Samira, a former sales assistant who was also heard last Tuesday. In an interview with the newspaper Le Parisien, the 29-year-old woman confides that she was harassed in full view of her superiors who, instead of reacting, showed themselves to be accomplices by opting for total indifference. Already at their first meeting, Jacques Bouthier had shown worrying signs, says the young woman. "He undressed me with his eyes, he had a look of an obsessed person," she explains. "At Assu 2000, Jacques Bouthier was God, he was untouchable," reports Le Parisien.

For several months, she says she was the victim of harassment by messages. All her attempts with her superiors to put an end to it were in vain. Standing up to the boss will end up costing her all her chances of being promoted. "I understood that I had no future in this company if I did not give in, that I was being sidelined, at 26," she laments. "When I realized that he would never let go, I cracked, I consulted a psychologist who put me on sick leave," confesses Samira.

While she thought she had gone through the worst, Samira receives threats from her superiors to prevent her from filing a complaint against the CEO of the company. After months of sick leave, she is finally fired for misconduct, under the "pretext of abandoning her post," she explains. But this will not prevent her from making herself heard when the case broke out in France. In total, eight people including Moroccans and French will be tried by the criminal court of Tangier for human trafficking and sexual harassment.
