Fire Engulfs Casablanca Nightclub ’Oscar’, Trapping Patrons Inside

A fire broke out in the nightclub, Oscar, located in Aïn Diab in Casablanca. The flames ravaged the premises set up in a basement, without any respect for safety standards.
More fear than harm. Apart from the material damage, the fire did not cause any loss of human life.
According to the account of the facts reported by the Arabic-speaking site, Adare.ma, the residents of the neighborhood would have panicked and fled their apartments for fear that the butane gas cylinders in the nightclub’s kitchen would explode.
In the wake of this, 14 customers remained trapped inside because it only had one exit door and had no emergency exit, the same source indicates.
Unfortunately, its employees were unable to extinguish the fire although they used about ten fire extinguishers.
Alerted, the firefighters appeared on the scene, were able to bring the fire under control and rescued, at the same time, clients who remained trapped inside, including women.
For now, the causes of the fire remain undetermined. For its part, the police are continuing their investigation.
