Fiorentina’s Amrabat Signals Strong Interest in Barcelona Move, Praises Xavi

Sofyan Amrabat only has eyes for Barça. The Moroccan midfielder of Fiorentina would be ready to wait for the next winter or summer transfer window, when he will be out of contract with the Italian club, to hope to join the Blaugrana.
In a talk show with "BlackCoco" reported by Sport.es, Sofyan Amrabat hinted that he is still waiting for Barça. When asked if he has childhood idols, the Moroccan international replied: "I don’t have idols. If you want to talk about the footballers I really enjoyed following, I would say Xavi and Zidane." And "BlackCoco" asked him: "So if you go to Barça, it’s Xavi who will coach you." "1+1 equals 2, right?" he reacted enthusiastically.
Amrabat is doing everything he can to join Barça. After a failed transfer last January and a likely failure during this summer transfer window, the Fiorentina midfielder would be ready to wait for the next winter market or even next season, at the end of his contract with Fiorentina, to hope, finally, to join the Blaugrana.
Barça was determined to acquire the young player to replace Sergio Busquets, and had even entered into negotiations with Fiorentina to try to reduce the 60 million of his release clause. The two clubs would have reached an agreement for 20 million euros, but Manchester United’s interest in the Moroccan would have pushed Barça to withdraw and ultimately opt for Oriol Romeu.
