Fez Residents Protest Mounting Garbage Crisis, Demand Action from Authorities

Many residents of Fez have denounced on social networks the unsanitary conditions experienced by certain neighborhoods and streets of the city, calling on the authorities in charge of waste and garbage collection to play their role.
In Facebook posts, the youth of Fez have made an appeal to the wali of the region so that a quick solution is found to this situation, especially after the arrest of the general manager of the company in charge of waste management in the city, and his detention in the prison of Ain Sebaa in Casablanca.
Internet users claim to be overwhelmed by this notorious unsanitary condition that causes them nuisances such as the spread of foul odors and insects. They urge the municipality to take its responsibilities, in particular to compel the company in charge of waste management to respect its specifications and honor its commitments.
The young people of Fez also denounce the deterioration and/or disappearance of garbage bins placed on the main streets of the city, particularly on Avenues Hassan II and Allal Ben Abdallah, which has contributed to making the city unsanitary. To express their anger, the internet users have published photos of piles of waste, calling on the authorities to sanitize the city and restore its image.
