Fez Police Arrest Two for Illegal Chemical Production and Unauthorized Medicine Distribution

Two individuals were arrested on Sunday evening by elements of the prefectural judicial police service in Fez, with the collaboration of the services of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST). They are suspected of manufacturing chemicals harmful to public health.
The two arrested individuals, aged 33 and 38, are managers of a herbal shop. They are suspected of being involved in the preparation and manufacture of chemicals harmful to health. The distribution of medicines and paramedical equipment without authorization are also attributed to them.
These two individuals were placed in custody for the continuation of the procedure in order to determine the responsibilities and possibly dismantle the various possible ramifications of this traffic of chemicals harmful to public health.
A statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) informs that the searches at the home allowed the seizure of the following items: 1,716 bottles of homemade chemical solutions marked sterilization solution, 1,400 paramedical masks, 22,000 pairs of paramedical gloves, 21 units of Dolio paint thinner, 21 pieces of homemade soap. In addition, a significant quantity of medicines, syringes, laboratory equipment used in the manufacture of chemicals and sums of money probably from this illicit and criminal activity.
