Ferry Carrying Moroccan Expatriates Arrives with Hull Breach at Tanger-Med Port

The crossing could have turned into a tragedy. Last week, a ship from the Inter Shipping company, carrying out the transit operation of MREs, was sailing with a breach in the hold.
Bearing the name "Detroit Jet", the ferry, which is part of the Moroccan fleet ensuring the transport of MREs on this route, arrived at the Port of Tanger-Med from Tarifa around 7 pm on Saturday, August 31.
According to Hibapress, the discovery of the breach in the hold took place after the ferry was moored. Also presenting problems with two engines, it could not ensure the return to Tarifa.
Patiently waiting in the long queues, especially during this peak traffic period, the MREs were inconvenienced by this setback. Finally, the incident was closed by the intervention of the Director of Tanger-Med, who invited the passengers to change ships.
