According to data from the Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water, the Port of Tanger Med has maintained its pioneering position by capturing 55% of the global passenger traffic and 66% of the global vehicle traffic.
Behind it, the Port of Tanger Ville achieved 27% of passenger traffic and 17% for vehicle traffic. Then come the Port of Nador with 16% of global passenger traffic and 16% for vehicle traffic, and the Port of Al Hoceima which accounts for 1% of global traffic.
The success of this Operation, according to the press release, is the result of the commitment and efforts made by all the stakeholders, in particular the Ministry through all its departments, public institutions and companies under its supervision.
The Ministry recalled having mobilized 30 ships during the "Marhaba" Operation 2019 period. These ships provided 631 weekly rotations on the 11 maritime lines connecting the 4 northern ports to the European ports of Spain, France and Italy. Efforts that have allowed, it is assured, a clear increase compared to 2018.
