Father Sentenced to 10 Months for Brutal Assault on 13-Year-Old Daughter in Morocco

A family man was tried last week by the court of first instance of Taroudant for torture and violence against his 13-year-old daughter. He was sentenced to 10 months in prison with a fine of 20,000 dirhams.
The facts date back to last July, when the girl, whose parents were separated, was the victim of extreme violence from her father.
According to the site Agadir24, the father had struck her with a butcher’s block on different parts of her body, causing a double fracture of her arms. He also held her hostage, forbidding her from going to the hospital.
Following the deterioration of her health, he then sent her back to her mother, who finally decided to file a complaint with the public prosecutor accompanied by a medical certificate issued by the Taroudant hospital.
