French Expat Faces Appeal in Morocco Sheep Massacre Case

Sentenced in the first instance to a one-month prison sentence with a fine of 20,000 dirhams, the French national, arrested in Mansouria near Mohammedia, appeared on Friday before the Casablanca Court of Appeal.
The victim’s father, outraged by the verdict rendered in the first instance, expects the appeal trial to do justice to his son. The damages suffered are considerable, the father estimates.
The family and the lawyer of the French pizza maker had tried to have the plaintiffs’ complaint withdrawn. In vain. The father had decided not to give up the legal action and to go to the end of this case that has caused outrage on social networks.
Michel S., a 70-year-old French resident, had, in a fit of anger, savagely crushed the sheep of a young shepherd, on the pretext that they were on his land. The man had then threatened him: "Get out! Otherwise, you’ll end up like the sheep".
