Fatal Hit-and-Run in Morocco: Driver Targets Minors After Beach Dispute

A driver intentionally hit minors, causing the death of one of them following a verbal dispute in Safi. The provincial judicial police service of the city opened a preliminary investigation on Saturday, August 1, 2020.
The initial investigation findings revealed that a group of minors were exchanging water jets and throwing eggs near the city’s beach, unintentionally hitting the driver of a light vehicle and causing a verbal dispute, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
Following this dispute, the driver quickly changed direction and intentionally hit the minors, causing the death of one of them on the spot. The four others were taken to the hospital to receive the necessary care, the same source said.
Pending the elucidation of the ins and outs of this case, the 27-year-old driver was taken into custody.
