Far-Right Vox Party Criticizes Moroccan-Spanish Teen’s Beauty Queen Win

The Spanish far-right party has once again made headlines on social media. Vox protested against the election of a girl of Moroccan origin as the new Queen of the Otura evenings.

"Young Moroccan girl, living in Otura for two years," Vox had posted. This publication is adorned with a comment to say the least unpleasant: "Apparently in Otura there was no other girl from the city, Spanish otureña, and more beautiful..."

It is this publication in which it is also indicated that the municipality of the commune was led by the PSOE with an absolute majority, which has outraged Internet users in general, and the Otura Municipal Council in particular.

Very quickly, the publication of the far-right formation on social networks about the Queen of the holidays was described as "xenophobic" by the Municipal Council. The publication in question provoked a wave of outraged reactions.

As a result, it is the aunt of the laureate who tries to defend her: "This girl is my niece, of Moroccan origin, but who has lived in Spain since the age of a few months and is of Spanish nationality. She is a beautiful, intelligent and very beautiful girl inside, without distinction of nationality or ethnicity," she writes, to respond to Vox’s criticism.

The young Moroccan elected has received the support of many Spaniards, including that of the Otura Parties and Equality Department, which has publicly condemned what it considers a "xenophobic and shameful publication". As for the Municipal Council, it expressed its "unconditional support" for the "young girl and her entire family".
