Famous real estate developer arrested in Morocco

A famous real estate developer was arrested on Thursday by the border police at the Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca. Facing no less than 120 complaints in Marrakech, the defendant was made available to the judicial police in the ochre city.
"The defendant was immediately made available to the judicial police of Marrakech where no less than 120 complaints have been filed against him by people who have acquired apartments in the real estate project "El Ghali" in the ochre city," reports Assabah.
According to the daily, the real estate developer did not respect the delivery deadlines of certain apartments, causing financial, psychological and social damage to some 600 buyers.
Since 2017 when this real estate project was launched, the defendant will have delivered only one tranche, constantly postponing the delivery of the remaining apartments, informs the same source, specifying that the real estate developer also sold an apartment to several buyers.
His arrest comes a week after the uproar in Parliament over a question addressed to Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, the Minister of National Land Use Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and City Policy.
