Family Seeks Justice for Teen Killed by Car After World Cup Match in Montpellier

The family of Aymen, a 14-year-old teenager, hit by a runaway car and killed on December 14, on Rue de Barcelone, Cité de la Mosson, after the Morocco-France match, is demanding justice.
Since Aymen’s death, his loved ones are "in absolute mourning. They really need things to move forward quickly," Marc Gallix, the family’s lawyer, told Midi Libre. He describes a broken family, plunged into misery. "They expect a lot from the judicial institution, without being in an attitude of vengeance," the Montpellier criminal lawyer assured, adding that he is on the same wavelength as them. "That is to say, the driver must be arrested quickly so that we can regain a certain serenity. Then he must be indicted and incarcerated. And finally, he must be tried by an assize court."
The events took place on December 14 after the Morocco-France match. A car hit Aymen, a 14-year-old Moroccan teenager on a road running alongside a tram line in the Paillade district. Hospitalized in intensive care with a life-threatening prognosis, he succumbed to his injuries. Marc Gallix’s wish is that all police resources be deployed so that the perpetrator, who is on the run, is arrested as soon as possible. "The longer it takes to get our hands on him, the more tensions will escalate. It’s a priority. But I know this is a case that has been flagged nationally."
