Family Pleads for Repatriation of Moroccan Woman Killed by Husband in France

Despite numerous steps taken with the diplomatic representations of Morocco in France, the family of the Moroccan woman stabbed to death in Vauvert by her partner on July 24 has not been able to repatriate the body of the deceased. She calls on the Moroccan authorities to lend a hand.

It is difficult for Bouchra’s family, a Moroccan woman in her forties killed with a knife, to repatriate her body to Morocco. In a video, her sister claims that the steps taken with the Moroccan embassy in France and the consulate of the kingdom have remained unanswered and calls on the Moroccan authorities for help.

The facts had occurred on the evening of July 24 in the Bosquet district, in the town of Vauvert, south of Nîmes (Gard) where the couple lived with their three children - two boys aged 13 and 17, and a 15-year-old daughter - for about ten years, reports France Bleu. Bouchra died, stabbed six times, in front of her 15-year-old daughter, at the foot of a three-story building, in a tree-lined parking lot. Alerted, the firefighters had arrived on the scene to resuscitate her. In vain. The mother of the family succumbed to her injuries.

The alleged murderer is the victim’s partner, a 72-year-old man. He was arrested near her with a knife in his hands. After being taken into custody, he was indicted then incarcerated. He is being prosecuted for "murder of a spouse," reported AFP.
