Memorial March for Domestic Violence Victim Postponed in Epinay-sur-Seine

The march in tribute to Bouchra, the Moroccan woman killed by her ex-partner on November 26 in front of her home in Épinay-sur-Seine, initially scheduled for this Saturday, has finally been postponed to Thursday, December 9.
Bouchra, 44, was stabbed to death by her ex-partner, Khalid, 51, who had recently been released from prison after serving a sentence for domestic violence. The judge had banned him from approaching Bouchra, who had repeatedly suffered domestic violence from him, recalls Le Parisien.

Released from prison last October, Khalid had already tried to attack the victim, who had activated the alert on the phone given to her by the justice system, which led to his arrest and detention for two months. Bouchra thought her ex-partner would be in prison until December 8, but he was released a few days ago, without her being informed of the decision. She was surprised to see him in front of her home on November 26, when she was not wearing the alert phone.

Bouchra’s family was planning to repatriate her to Morocco on December 7. But fate decided otherwise. In any case, she will be buried in Morocco. Before the body’s departure, a march will be organized in tribute to Bouchra on Thursday, December 9 at 6:30 pm, in the Carpeaux alley, Clos du Sansonnet residence, in Épinay-sur-Seine, where she lived with her daughters aged 14 and 5. They have been taken care of by the "femicide protocol" set up in Seine-Saint-Denis.
