Elderly Taxi Driver Murdered in Brutal Knife Attack Near Agadir Airport

Wednesday 13 January 2021, by Ginette

As he was leaving his home on Monday, January 4, this 65-year-old taxi driver had no idea he would end his life, killed by 25 stab wounds. The murder took place at the entrance to the Tine Saïd douar.

For this grand taxi driver, it was an ordinary day until he found himself face to face with death. That day, at the Biougra station, Chtouka-Ait Baha province, he parks his car and picks up his clients as usual. The clients will get out one by one, until he has only one left, a young man sitting behind him.

Upon arriving at the entrance to the Tine Saïd douar, part of the Oued Es-Safa rural commune, on the road leading to Agadir-Al Massira airport, the first knife blow is given to him by the latter, then a second until he receives a total of 25 stab wounds, reports Aujourd’hui Le Maroc.

The cries and calls for help from the victim were in vain. He succumbed to his injuries in a matter of seconds. While the driver’s body lay in the taxi seat, his killer took the time to search the vehicle and the victim’s pockets to steal the day’s takings of nearly 1,500 DH. As if he had not been inhuman enough, he throws the driver’s body out of the vehicle and gets rid of the taxi in an alley located in the ERAC housing estate, in the Ait Âmira rural commune.

But fortunately, the gendarmerie elements who took charge of the case were able to identify him and arrest him. He is 22 years old and was trying to join a family member living in Ait Âmira. He admitted to the investigators that behind this sordid crime, there was only the desire to steal the day’s takings from his victim.
