Taxi Driver Sentenced to 6 Years for Kidnapping and Raping Nurse in Morocco

The Court of Appeal of El Jadida has sentenced a taxi driver to six years in prison for kidnapping, sequestering, stabbing and raping a nurse in a forest in Bir Jdid.
The events took place on a night when the nurse was supposed to go home to Bir Jdid in Casablanca. She and one of her colleagues used to contact the taxi driver who took them to their respective homes. But that day, she found herself alone with the driver after her colleague had gotten out of the vehicle, reports Assabah.
The driver continued on the road. He took advantage of the opportunity to make advances to the young woman. She turned a deaf ear to these remarks, which did not in any way deter the driver. He stopped along the way a few cable lengths from Bir Jdid. He blocks the car doors, accelerates then stops in front of a hut near a forest. Then he drags the victim into the hut before stabbing her with a knife and raping her. Immediately afterwards, the nurse managed to escape and took refuge in a house. She called her colleague who took her to the hospital.
The criminal investigation elements managed to locate and arrest the accused following a complaint filed by the victim. At the bar, he denied the facts but irrefutable evidence confounded him. The Court of Appeal of El Jadida handed down its verdict: the driver was sentenced to six years in prison for kidnapping, sequestration, rape and stabbing with a knife.
