EIB Grants €80 Million Loan to Expand Morocco’s Casablanca-Berrechid Highway

New loan for Morocco from the European Investment Bank (EIB) which has just granted 80 million euros to the National Motorway Company of Morocco (ADM) to finance part of the work to triple the Casablanca-Berrechid highway.
"This financing covers the work to triple the Casablanca-Berrechid highway over 25.8 km as well as the construction of the Casablanca bypass highway over 31.7 km. This project is part of the "National Motorway Framework Scheme" which aims to develop the road network of the Kingdom," explains the European bank in a press release.
EIB Vice-President Emma Navarro says she is "pleased to be able to continue to support Morocco’s competitiveness, with which we are celebrating our forty years of cooperation, by improving connections on its territory, thus offering its population time savings, lower transport costs and increased road safety. This loan responds to Europe’s desire to support the development of Moroccan infrastructure. It will directly contribute to improving mobility and quality of life in a large city like Casablanca."
Morocco is the 2nd largest beneficiary of EIB financing among the neighboring countries south of Europe with 25% of the bank’s total investments in the region, it is also indicated.
