EasyJet Expands Morocco Routes with 95,000 New Winter Seats

The Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) is working on the deployment of its "Light in action" action plan, aimed in particular at multiplying actions to strengthen air service to Morocco. It has concluded a record agreement with the airline EasyJet for nearly 95,000 seats to be injected for the winter season 2023-2024 alone.

In a press release, the ONMT announces that the launch of several direct lines connecting several European cities to three main Moroccan destinations: Rabat, Marrakech and Agadir, is planned as part of this agreement. "This record agreement with one of Europe’s largest airlines reinforces us in the deployment of our strategy aimed at increasing the power of our destination in the world," says Adel El Fakir, general manager of the office. According to the official, other agreements are also underway with other companies. In total, 94,346 additional seats will be injected for the winter season alone, divided between Rabat (58,310), Marrakech (20,790) and Agadir (15,246), the press release specifies.

In detail, EasyJet will operate flights between Rabat and five European cities: Paris, at a rate of 4 weekly frequencies, or 15,345 seats, Geneva, at a rate of 2 weekly frequencies, or 8,593 seats, Lyon, at a rate of 3 frequencies, or 10,679 seats and Nantes and Nice at a rate of 2 weekly frequencies, or 7,550 seats each, it is specified. The second largest airline in Europe in terms of passengers transported will also serve Marrakech and Bristol at a rate of two weekly frequencies, or 8,712 seats, and the ochre city and Porto, at a rate of 3 weekly frequencies, or 12,078 seats. A new Agadir-Porto line will be launched at a rate of 2 weekly frequencies, or 7,920 seats. The company will also resume the Paris-Agadir line at a rate of two weekly frequencies with an offer of 7,326 seats.

EasyJet offers one million annual seats, making it the 5th largest airline in terms of international capacity to Morocco.
