Dubai Police Arrest Moroccan-Danish Gang Leader Wanted by Interpol for Murder

The security services of the emirate announced, on Friday, June 5, 2020, the arrest of the Dane Amir Faten Mekki, originally from Morocco, at his place of residence in a neighborhood of Dubai, last Wednesday.
In a statement, the security forces in Dubai present him as a "dangerous" international gang leader wanted by Interpol for murder. "He is one of the most dangerous international gang leaders involved in multiple crimes, such as assassinations, drug trafficking and money laundering," the same source specifies.
Amir Faten Mekki "is on Interpol’s list of wanted persons for murder". He is linked to one of the most wanted criminals in the Netherlands, Ridouan Taghi, born in Morocco and who was arrested in December 2019 in Dubai before being handed over to the Netherlands, the same source continues.
The Dane is a member of the criminal milieu in the Swedish city of Malmö (south), report Danish media. According to the newspaper Kvällsposten, Amir is actively wanted by the Spanish police for two assassination contracts and several explosions in Spain. This "dangerous" international gang leader went to Dubai using "several passports".
Pending his handover to the competent authorities, Amir is being interrogated.
